Our Enhanced Education Program provides direct, coordinated workshops and webinars to professionals training for ACSM certification examinations, as well as to those certified individuals who are interested in continuing education credits.

Our Team
Kim DeLEO B.S, P.T.A, ACSM-CPT- Partner, General Manager
Kim earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Springfield College in 1991, and earned her Associate's degree and licence as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Lasell College in 1998. . Since then, Kim has held a dual career in fitness and rehabilitation. She has worked in a variety of areas of health and fitness including corporate fitness, commercial fitness, personal training, group exercise, home care, skilled nursing, and education. Kim is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and has been teaching aerobics and personal training for over 20 years. In addition, Kim has presented a variety of workshops for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and other organizations for the past 18 years. Recently, Kim has been working for Visiting Rehab and Nursing for over 4 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant and HR Recruiter.

Tom Spring M.S, ACSM-CES, FAACVPR - Partner, Director of Education
Tom earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Oakland University in 2000 along with a graduate certificate in Complementary Medicine & Wellness. Undergraduate work was completed in Health Science, Exercise Science and Psychology. Tom is certified as a Clinical Exercise and Health Fitness Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Fellow of the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). He has worked in a variety of areas of health and exercise science including non-invasive cardiology, clinical weight management, corporate & community health promotion, physical/occupational therapy, and personal fitness training.
Currently, Tom is the Senior Director of Strategic Accounts for WebMD Health Services, Provider Systems Segment, focusing on corporate and community health promotion program strategy and implementation for health system and hospital clients. Recently, Tom was Programs Manager of Corporate, Business, and Community Health Promotion for Beaumont Health System in Metropolitan Detroit, overseeing a variety of related programs and services. Tom is an adjunct instructor in the exercise science programs for both Oakland Community College and Oakland University and an Associate Professor in the School of Internal Medicine within the Oakland University/William Beaumont School of Medicine. Tom also serves as a consulting content expert in exercise science and health promotion for a variety of organizations and education providers.
Tom has authored numerous published scientific papers and abstracts and has authored and/or co-authored 4 book chapters related to exercise science, most recently in ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 6th edition and is currently Associate Editor for ACSM’s Resources for the Personal Trainer, 4th edition. Tom presents regularly at local, national, and international invited symposia, conferences, and various events on benefits of exercise for cardiovascular disease management and prevention, physical activity and epidemiology, metabolism and obesity, and a variety of professional and motivational topics.
Tom serves on numerous professional boards and committees, including the ACSM’s Clinical Certification Review Board as Chair for Certified Personal Trainer committee, Chair of the AACVPR Membership Committee, Executive Board of the Michigan Wellness Coalition and as Immediate-Past President of the Michigan Society for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He is on review boards for 2 nationally recognized medical publications and is often featured on local media for exercise and health-related features.

Adam deJong M.A, FACSM, FAACVPR - Partner, Director of Finance and Production, ACSM CCRB Liason
Adam earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Exercise Science from Central Michigan University. Currently, he is the manager of cardiovascular services at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan, and is a faculty lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Adam also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Valerie Gokenbach DM, RM, MBA - Consulting Content Expert/ ACSM GEI Webinars and Workshops
Val possesses a true passion for leadership and has been in administrative healthcare positions for over thirty years. Responsibilities included Nursing and several support departments such as radiology, respiratory therapy, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, oncology services, neurodiagnostic services, employee health, integrative medicine, schools of allied health, patient service departments and the emergency services.
Val has led a dual life as a fitness presenter, consultant and dance instructor. Worked for Aerobics Fitness Association and traveled extensively presenting health and wellness programs for fitness instructors and the general public. She has developed a line of exercise videos called “You Can Do This” which were also sold on QVC. Val Continues to teach several exercise and dance classes a week and truly enjoys watching people succeed! Her mission is to promote a philosophy of healing, by bringing the “Voice of Wellness” to all people. Fitness/Wellness and a healthy lifestyle, is achievable for all! You can do this!
